I hope this message finds you well. The Christmas season is officially here, and this December edition has reminded me of so many childhood memories. As a child, I remember once December came around I hardly ever slept, in anticipation of all the Christmas activities to commence. Arts and crafts at school, classroom print outs(Christmas themed of course) for homework, Christmas programs by candlelight, church dinners and gospel concerts. And if that wasn’t enough! Mom was the best decorator I know. She’d make the house on the inside so magical. When visiting my grandmother she’d have us help serve folks who had no home with a good hot meal at her church. All of these experience made the season warm and happy. But my most favorite thing to do was hang out under the Christmas tree. At even given time you could find me with a cozy blanket, an action figure or two, burrowed underneath the tree. It was the perfect spot beside the tv and the fireplace ( which was never lit). But it was safe, a place I could dream, or watch the grinch changes his ways. The good old days.
My friend, I pray this December edition brings some joy into your holiday season, as it has for me. Adulting can sometimes make us forget when life was simpler, kinder, and bit more… oh what’s the word… Oh yes! Whimsical! My friend, you are always welcome in Willow Moss Wood! So snuggle in, grab yourself a warm drink and see what the hustle and bustle is about.
